About the Role

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative, and detail-oriented individual for our Test Engineering Intern position in West Layfayette, IN. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. If you are an enthusiastic team player who wishes to immediately apply your academic knowledge in assisting our engineers and are currently attending college or university majoring in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or those respective Technology fields, we invite you to apply now!

 

As a Test Engineering Intern, a typical day might include the following:

  • Evaluate new test technologies and methods.

  • Determine Design for Test (DFT) specifications and coordinate with engineering staff on new product design.

  • Design, develop, and maintain test strategies for new and existing products that meet corporate objectives.

  • Train production testing staff in function, design, and maintenance of all testing processes on the production floor.

  • Gather and analyze test data to improve test coverage and efficiencies.

 

This job might be for you if you:

  • Are pursuing a technical degree in an electrical Engineering field or have equivalent work experience.

  • Experience with applicable programming languages.

  • The ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

  • The ability to work cooperatively in team environment.

  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.

  • Are able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

  • Are able to work cooperatively in a team environment.

  • Have background check results satisfactory to SEL.

  • Have negative drug test result(s)

West Lafayette, IN- This position is located in West Lafayette, IN, best known as the home of Purdue University. Pay Range Data

($24.25 - $30.00 per hour)* Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk to your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
