About the Role

SUMMARY

The Production Intern will support the Production team across various stages of an animated feature, assisting with day-to-day coordination, tracking, and communication. This role provides hands-on exposure to animation production workflows and offers an opportunity to learn how creative ideas move from development through the different stages of the pipeline.

Sony Pictures Animation is an animation studio based in Los Angeles, California, creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. We pride ourselves on empowering filmmakers to lead the creative process and allowing the hand of the artist to be truly felt, with the goal of producing bold and innovative visual storytelling.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Production Coordinators and Managers with daily administrative and production tasks
  • Help track schedules, assignments, and deliverables across departments
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, notes, and follow-ups
  • Support organization of production materials and digital files
  • Assist with setting up meetings (including dailies and reviews), as well as setting up and breaking down the room as needed
  • Communicate clearly with team members across departments as needed
  • Provide general support to the production team

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant program (film, animation, production, or related field preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office
  • Interest in animation production and collaborative creative environments
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability and willingness to be in person 3-5 days a week depending on production needs

The anticipated base salary for this position is $19/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
