Job Description

Ingram Marine Group is looking for a Logistics Intern who will play a crucial role in supporting our Logistics Department in Reserve, LA. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with various logistics and billing tasks, ensuring smooth operations and accurate data management. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in logistics in the Marine Industry and develop your skills in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working on a training project that will culminate in value-add training documents for the organization
  • Assisting in handling billing, logistics, and system discrepancies by collaborating with internal and external customers (Accounting, Credit, Sales, Logistics, etc.).
  • Assisting our dispatch group with entering traffic in our system to make better decisions.
  • Supporting the investigation and resolution of billing discrepancies by communicating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Creating daily grain Bill of Ladings as per customer requests.
  • Updating boat logs to ensure accurate barge data and assist in investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Entering detailed data into internal systems, including escalations, barge unloads, barge loadings, reconsignments, tramp towing, transloads, and billing information.
  • Utilizing information from updated contracts to create new job numbers for accurate billing purposes.
  • Assisting in managing, troubleshooting, and creating customer Towline accounts.
  • Supporting department activities with regular and prompt attendance.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
