About the Role

Montecito Bank & Trust is offering a paid part-time Human Resources Internship in our Human Resources Department. As a Human Resources Intern, you will deliver a World Class Experience by supporting the Human Resources department. This intern will work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with all members of the Human Resources team as well as other Bank Departments as needed. You will be located in Santa Barbara, CA with a fully on-site work schedule.

What We’re Looking For

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of College/University coursework preferred; most relevant coursework may include business, sociology, psychology, or organizational development. 
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of basic analytic tools and concepts.
  • Agile and adaptable.

Your Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide administrative support to HRIS system.
  • Assist with various HR functions such as job descriptions, process mapping, procedure maintenance, and HR presentations. 
  • Use pulse surveys, tracking, and reporting to support department initiatives and HR programs. 
  • Provide support for process efficiencies across all HR functions.
  • Assist with other HR projects as assigned.

Internship Schedule

  • The internship program will run from May/June 2026 through August/September 2026 (flexible depending on school schedule or other job obligations).
  • The position will be on-site up to 30 hours per week, with no ability to work remote, for up to 12 weeks.

The hourly rate for this position is $18.00.
