About the Role

Description

 The Fundraising Events Intern provides fundraising events support for the Mission Advancement team at the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids. Mission Advancement supports fundraising efforts including grants, annual campaign, corporate sponsorships, data collection, special projects, and events that build financial support for YMCA youth development and healthy living programs. 


Responsibilities:

  • Support four-person volunteer committee and Annual Campaign and Events Manager in planning and executing August 17 Golf Outing.
  • Serve as site assistant during the August 17 event under supervision of Annual Campaign and Events Manager
  • Assist with donor and sponsor communication, including thank you letters and pledge invoicing.
  • Assist with donor and sponsor solicitation in support of Golf Outing

Scope:

  • Up to 30 hours per week (flexible depending on schedule and school internship requirements) at various YMCA branches and outside venues; based at David D. Hunting YMCA.
  • Off-site, all-day presence required at August 17 outing

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications
  • Enthusiastic about new opportunities and working in a mission-driven environment
  • An unpaid internship but college credit may apply
