Tax Intern

The Summer Tax Intern will support the corporate tax team with federal, state, and local tax compliance. This role provides hands-on experience in a private-company environment and exposure to real-world tax processes, including data preparation, reconciliation, and interaction with accounting systems. The intern will work closely with tax and accounting professionals to develop foundational technical and professional skills.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Help gather and organize data for federal and state income tax compliance
• Prepare and update fixed asset schedules
• Support the preparation of journal entries related to tax accruals and adjustments
• Assist with monthly tax reconciliations
• Assist with tax notice tracking and responses
• Participate in process documentation

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong interest in tax
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Education Requirements:

• Entering final year of bachelor’s degree in accounting or entering master’s program in Accounting/Taxation
• Completion of intermediate accounting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Basic Excel Skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, data analysis, sumif)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
