The Wright Center for Community Health Practices in Clarks Summit, Hawley, Scranton, Jermyn, North Pocono and Wilkes-Barre, offer primary health care services for children and adults across Northeastern Pennsylvania. About the Role

POSITION SUMMARY
The Legal Intern provides essential clerical and administrative support to the Legal Department. This role focuses on the foundational operations of an organizational legal environment, performing routine office support tasks such as filing, scanning, and record organization. While this position does not perform substantive legal work, it offers a front-row seat to the administrative architecture of a high-level legal and governance office. This is a temporary, part-time position working approximately three (3) to six (6) hours per week. 


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the SVP, Chief Legal & Governance Officer, Enterprise. This position has no direct reports.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

While living and demonstrating our Core Values, the Legal Intern will: 

  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks including filing, scanning, copying, and organizing legal and corporate documents
  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical records in accordance with department procedures
  • Assist with document management activities including indexing, labeling, and file organization
  • Support archiving and records retention processes as directed
  • Assist with preparation and organization of routine materials and basic documents
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to Legal Department staff as needed
  • Perform data entry and basic tracking as assigned
  • Maintain orderly filing systems and document storage areas
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive and protected information
  • Perform other routine support duties as assigned

  • By reporting directly to the SVP, Chief Legal & Governance Officer, the legal intern will observe how an organizational legal department operates at the executive level
  • Legal intern will gain hands-on experience in how legal records are managed, retained, and secured – a critical skill for any future legal professional
  • Legal intern will benefit from opportunities to interact with legal professionals and gain insight into the various career paths offered within the legal industry
  • Gain foundational knowledge of the “backend” of legal work, understanding the importance of meticulous organization and data integrity

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Buy in and experience working in the EOS® model (strongly preferred)
  • Mission-oriented; represents the enterprise in a professional manner while demonstrating organizational pride
  • Current undergraduate student or interest in legal field preferred 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete routine tasks independently
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to manage time effectively in a limited-hours role
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills
