Description
Lake Ridge Bank is seeking a motivated student to join the bank for Summer 2026 as our Agriculture Intern. The Agriculture Intern is responsible for assisting the Agricultural and Commercial Lenders and the Crop Insurance Department with general office duties and special events as well as attend farm and business visits with lenders and crop insurance agents.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand Bank Mission and Brand, organizational structure, employee handbook, bank security, policies and procedures, and standards of conduct
- Assist with client communication, information gathering, inputting customer data and creating detailed reports
- Utilize crop insurance mapping programs to generate reports and input data to customer files
- Maintain accuracy and details of customer files, which may include scanning for electronic files
- Make farm visits with lenders and record calling efforts on call reporting document
- Make public appearances with Ag Team at events sponsored by Lake Ridge Bank such as Dairy Breakfasts and County Fairs
- Participation in local agricultural events, including occasional evening events
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with coordination of training events and other special projects as assigned
- Complete all annual security and compliance training as required
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information at all times
- Actively participate in bank and department meetings
- Perform all other duties as assigned or requested
Requirements
- Working toward an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an agriculture related field
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to be able to interact and communicate with a diverse group of associates
- High level of customer service skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Flexibility with the ability to adapt to an ever-changing work environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- Functional understanding of advanced features in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint with the ability and willingness to learn new programs/software
- Willingness and ability to participate in community functions where the office is involved
- Ability to represent the organization in a professional, positive manner
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of agriculture and agricultural operations is preferred
