About the Role

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

To assist the QA/Food Safety Site manager in managing in facets of the Quality Assurance/Food Safety function for this facility

  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform raw material and component inspections per established procedures and inspection instructions.
  •  Data entry and material release through the computer ERP system.
  • Review, maintain and file the appropriate quality records and samples as needed.
  • Perform document audits of Production paperwork and maintain the document filing system. 
  • Assist the QA/Food Safety Site Manager with Internal and External audits.
  • Assist with necessary Food Safety, GMP, and Quality Systems and Procedure training in the plant. This includes preparation for and participation in QA Pulse Meetings as directed.
  • Process vendor complaints/rejections as required.
  • Perform warehouse audits of finished goods, WIP, and raw materials as requested.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for following all Food Safety related policies and procedures. 
  • Responsible for following all Safety Rules, policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintain   documents and data analysis for various weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly meetings as directed.
  • Collect, package, and arrange for shipment of various product samples to other plants, outside test agencies, vendors, and customers as needed.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the QA/Food Safety Site Manager.

 

  


Requirements


 EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • High School diploma;
  • Currently enrolled in Post-Secondary education/training.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior quality or inspection experience and mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Current post-secondary training/education directly related to quality assurance, quality control or food safety preferred, but not necessary.
