Intern, Early Careers Analyst

This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11, 2026, until August 28, 2026.

Job Summary
The Intern, Sales & Marketing Intern is responsible for developing a deep understanding of CN’s customer needs within the organization’s competitive environment through market research and data analytics.  The intern is expected to introduce CN to novel tools and technologies (including ways to leverage AI to enhance the effectiveness our sales team) that will enhance the way we work today.  The intern will also work with our Market Analyst to take over production of weekly/monthly reports, optimizing and streamlining where possible. 
 
Report Generation & Enhancements
Manage the administrative process for the Regional Sales team.
Generate weekly/monthly routine reports, enhancing or streamlining them where possible
Automating activities with Excel, Macros, and Power Automate, or leveraging AI to address more complex tasks.
Generate timely and accurate rate proposals to handle pricing exceptions for existing publications, ensuring invoices are issued
Review and manage customer contracts, and agreements or renewals for the Sales department
Provide guidance to Account Managers and Accounting Representative on customer disputes

Research
Assess market and modal competition, costs, service requirements and equipment availability
Undertake studies related to corridor pricing structure and modal competition
Investigate areas to enhance what we do using the technologies and tools that we have available.  If the required tools are not available, then support the development of a business case for it.
Contribute to segment business and pricing strategies
Review nature and scope of segment as well as customer requirements  
Liaise with Account Managers to obtain required information (ex. forecast intel, etc.)

Requirements
 
Experience
Previous Experience in accounting, transportation, supply chain management, distribution, and logistics*
*Any experience for these above would be considered as an asset
 
Education/Certification/Designation
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent
 
Competencies

Cultivates relationships to proactively support customers’ supply chain needs or those that support them
Collaborates with key internal stakeholders to enable higher productivity
Knows the business and stays current with industry trends to elevate expertise and work

Connect the dots to identify areas where their skillset in technology can be applied to enhance our team
Deals with pressure and change by staying calm to quickly adapt to changes
Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French*)
*Any competency for these above would be considered as an asset
 
Technical Skills/Knowledge
Financial acumen and ability to forecast and conduct financial analysis 
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite, especially Excel
*Knowledge of Power Automate, Workbench in Vertex AI + Python + Gemini LLM, with the ability to iterate and refine solutions using Microsoft Copilot as a support tool. 
*Any knowledge for any of the above would be considered as an asset
