Job Description

OVERVIEW 

The News Editorial Intern provides support to the show production teams, assisting with cutting videos, building graphics, learning to produce basic show segments and/or guest booking. This role is ideal for university undergraduates aspiring to explore a career in TV news production and journalism. You have keen interests and passion in business, economics, and financial markets. There will also be opportunities to learn about business and markets, as well as the fundamentals of journalism. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Work with video editors to cut videos to match news scripts.  

  • Write sample scripts for TV news.  

  • Transcribe live interviews. 

  • Build graphics using CNBC’s in-house applications and liaise with the Graphics team for guidance. 

  • Prepare elements such as video clips, lower-thirds, soundbites etc for show segments. 

  • Efficiently manage the teleprompter for on-air talents during live programming.  

  • Being involved in creation of show segments – share, discuss and/or pitch ideas. 

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • University student currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a related field such as business, economics, mass communication and/or media production. 
  • Must have the legal right to work in Singapore. Only candidates with existing eligibility to work in Singapore will be considered. 
  • Able to work early morning start times. 
  • Available for a full time, 6-month internship from June- January
  • Keen interest in business news, economics, financial markets & current affairs. 
  • Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks while operating under tight deadlines.  
  • Ability to work in a face-paced, high-tension live news environment. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills to engage and interact with stakeholders at varying levels. 
  • Willingness to learn and proactively take initiative.
