We are looking for an energetic student to join Generac Headquarters as an EHS Intern!

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) intern will be responsible for day-to-day duties that include working with variety of departments. The EHS Intern responsibilities will include improvement projects, EHS software system administration, reporting, inspections. Additional responsibilities may include data entry and analysis, assistance on projects and other duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing project support and work between cross functional teams
  • Assist team members with providing necessary reports and queries to assist the department to make informed and good business decisions
  • Assist in updating departmental procedures and policies
  • Assist with Health, Safety, Security and Environmental improvement projects
  • Assist with the management of EHS software system
  • Assist with EHS inspections and ongoing continuous improvements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program
  • The ability to work 15-20 hours during the school year and full-time during school breaks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS)related bachelor’s degree program (EHS, Engineering)
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficient
  • Previous working or volunteer experience
  • Involvement and leadership in extra-curricular campus activities or non-profit organizations

  • Must be detail oriented
  • Professional manner and personal maturity
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Solid quantitative skill set and the ability to analyze, think and communicate with well-supported data
  • Strong problem solving skills;
  • Strong verbal and written communication competencies;

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
