About the Role

Description

The Electrical Engineering Intern supports our electrical team members by assisting with electrical systems design, documentation, and coordination for a variety of projects.  This role provides hands-on experience in engineering analysis, drafting, and project support from concept through construction. 


Interns will gain exposure to real world design applications while developing technical proficiency, communication skills, and an understanding of industry standards. 


Design & Engineering Support

  • Participate in the electrical design process, preparing accurate and thorough drawings and details. 
  • Assist in development of designs from concept through completion of construction. 
  • Prepare engineering design calculations and assist with technical analysis. 
  • Conduct research on new technologies and applicable code requirements. 
  • Assist in writing engineering reports and documentation. 

Document Production & Coordination

  • Follow EP drafting standards and maintain consistent sheet and background setup. 
  • Support preparation of construction documents with a high level of accuracy and completeness. 
  • Coordinate effectively with internal staff and other design professionals. 
  • Meet assigned project deadlines (occasional overtime may be required). 
  • Use tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam COMcheck, AGI 32, and SKM Power Tools.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship available.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Sophomore or Junior standing. 
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
