About the Role

Position: Underwriting Intern

Location: New York - NYC Office - 4 Days/Week

Summary

Under immediate supervision, learns, shadows, and provides support to the  Healthcare Professional Liability team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Initial review and analysis of transaction submissions, including reviewing financial statements, business operational information, and purchase agreements
  • Assess transaction risks and prepare preliminary terms for policy indications
  • Assist Underwriters in managing deal pipeline, including managing and maintaining electronic underwriting files, producing indications, coordinating due diligence process with outside counsel and accountants, and preparing insurance policies for issuance
  • Attend marketing events, business development events, and group strategy sessions

Desired Skills and Experience: 

  • Working toward a Bachelor’s degree and either be a current or recent enrollee in relevant field.
  • Our ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and a team-player who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Spring 2027 graduation strongly preferred.
  • 60 hours of general college coursework with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Compensation & Pay Transparency (New York)

The pay range for this position is $23-29/hour, which includes geographic adjustments, where applicable. The pay range is the range TMHCC in good faith believes is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting. The hired applicant will be offered pay within the entire range based on the candidate’s geographic location, qualifications, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
