Based in our Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics' Computing and Networks Center located in Johnstown, PA, you will gain hands-on experience participating in continuous improvement activities to help us improve efficiency, optimize processes, and drive innovation to identify, reduce and remove waste.

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in continuous improvement kaizen events to drive waste reduction across the business
  • Conduct time studies on the manufacturing floor
  • Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company and also learn new things
  • Gather and assemble data to identify areas of opportunity within the factory
  • Complete assigned tasks on time

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be currently enrolled in an institution for higher learning with some progress towards an Industrial Engineering or Operations Management degree
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn
  • Competence with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Ability to analyze data, draw meaningful conclusions, and make recommendations 
  • Eager to understand, document, map, analyze, critique, and improve processes 
  • Comfortable with communicating both written and verbally with all employees and functional groups
