About the Role



At Volker Stevin, our People & Culture team plays an important role in supporting our workforce and helping our projects succeed. Reporting to the People & Culture team, this role offers exposure to recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, and learning coordination. It is an excellent opportunity for a student who is eager to learn, detail oriented, and interested in building a career in Human Resources.

How You’ll Add Value:

  • Review resumes, assist with candidate screening, conduct phone interviews for hourly and field-based roles, and complete reference checks
  • Support applicant tracking and recruitment administration in ADP Workforce Now
  • Assist with generating offer letters and new hire documentation
  • Track and follow up on pre-employment requirements to ensure timely onboarding completion
  • Coordinate training enrollment, track completion records, and assist with learning session logistics
  • Maintain accurate employee files and shared HR resources
  • Assist with document management, template updates, and team communications
  • Support HR projects including SharePoint updates and policy research

What You Bring:

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary institute focused on Human Relations, Business Administration, or a related field Returning to school in September 2026 or January 2027
  • Prior HR or administrative experience is an asset but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Excellent communication and follow-through
  • Positive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn


Criteria for position:


To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution (college, university, or technical program)
  • Returning to post-secondary studies after completing the work term
