About the Role

Job Summary: The Service Desk Intern is responsible for providing support for Service Desk Analysts and/or Customer Service Engineers in providing support for basic incidents and request resolution and/or setup of equipment. When issues are beyond the scope of their ability or responsibility, they are responsible for escalating the incident or request to the appropriate team member.

Essential Job Duties: 

  1. Receive user calls and assist in problem determination, resolution and escalation. 
  2. Install hardware, software, components and peripheral equipment as directed. 
  3. Handle stressful situations with clarity and grace. 
  4. Maintain a work-order system and prioritize job requests. 
  5. Utilize Remote assistance tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues.  
  6. Maintain a superior level of customer service at all times. 
  7. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers through written and verbal methods. 
  8. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education -- High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) Microsoft Office certifications are desirable.
  • Experience -- Basic knowledge of Information Technology and interpersonal skills with a desire for IT career.
