This position is 100% remote anywhere in the US.

Overview:

Precisely’s Summer Internship Program is a paid, part-time opportunity for undergraduate students actively enrolled in university. This is an 10-week program that begins Monday June 8, 2026 and ends Friday August 14, 2026. This opportunity is 100% remote and you must be located in the United States during the summer internship. The Data Analyst - Wildfire Suite Intern will work closely with the Product Management team.

We are seeking an intern to support the retooling of our Wildfire Risk and Wildfire Risk Extreme products. This role involves identifying and organizing new datasets that can enhance the accuracy of our wildfire risk ratings, including sourcing information that is not readily available. The intern will structure these datasets for integration into our production workflows and help identify opportunities to incorporate AI tools into the data preparation process. 

What you will do:

  • You will find data sources that fill gaps in our existing model inputs – specifically nation-wide structure loss, electrical distribution lines, property attributes and other data sources that may be identified during the model rebuilding process
  • Once found, you will organize the datasets into formats that can be absorbed by the production process
  • You will be involved in planning meetings during which you will look for opportunities for AI tools to be used effectively
  • You will help the project manager with tasks as assigned. 

What we are looking for:

  • An enthusiastic person to join our team for the summer to help us improve our Wildfire Risk and Wildfire Risk Extreme products 
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, as needed 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Aptitude with internet research 
  • Familiarity with AI tools and their appropriate use 
  • Capacity to read and understand peer-reviewed literature 
  • Competence with Microsoft Office applications (especially Word and Excel)
