About the Role

AHCA is seeking a Summer Intern with a commitment to improving lives by delivering solutions for quality care. This role will support the Government Relations team and long-term care profession in various ways and gain visibility into the inner workings and aspects of the Government Relations team.

Requirements: 

Currently pursuing a degree in Healthcare, Political Science, Public Policy, and Business. Excellent writing and verbal communications skills are a must. The candidate should be a self-starter, willing to learn and work on several projects at once and work under tight deadlines. Results-oriented with willingness to take responsibility and initiative to learn new things. Must have the ability to show good judgment, effectively respond and problem solve. 

Duties will include:

    This internship will involve assisting AHCA political staff on assorted administrative, research, clerical and programmatic tasks, and other projects as assigned. Experience provided would be valuable for a candidate interested in understanding processes as they related to federal PACs or Political Advocacy.  

    Research and policy analysis on legislation that directly impacts our sector. 

    Draft and coordinate with staff any Action Alerts sent to our grassroot members. 

    Administrative assistance for the program, includes drafting donor communications – both solicitations and affiliated marketing materials, maintaining membership and fundraising lists, and compiling candidate research. Regular constituent communication is required to respond to questions, concerns, and follow up for upcoming meetings and fundraising events.

     Selected individual would help coordinate events including fundraisers and candidate meet and greets, as requested. Administrative staff support during major AHCA/NCAL meetings including the annual convention, CEO conferences, IO conferences, and Congressional Briefing. 

    Other duties as assigned.
