About the Role
As a Software Engineer in Test (SDET) Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to be a key player in setting a high quality bar for our users. You will be embedded with the Cluster Management team—the group responsible for the "brain" of our infrastructure. In this role, you won't just be testing features; you will be automating the critical Front-End flows that orchestrate our cloud. To do this effectively, you will dive deep into the full lifecycle of a cluster, gaining a rare understanding of how AI infrastructure is provisioned, managed, and scaled. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of user experience and large-scale distributed systems.
This role is on-site at our HQ in San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities
- Own the automation of Front-End flows for our Cluster Management dashboard, ensuring reliability for users managing complex AI infrastructure
- Develop a deep understanding of the cluster lifecycle - from bootstrapping and provisioning to monitoring and decommissioning - and use that knowledge to build comprehensive end-to-end tests
- Extend and improve test automation frameworks to increase efficiency and overall coverage across the platform
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code with a focus on long-term maintainability
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define test plans and champion quality standards for the cluster management experience
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, earned or expected by Summer 2027
- Excellent programming skills in Typescript or Python
- Knowledge of automation testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Ability to solve problems creatively and communicate trade-offs effectively
- Experience in Playwright, Cypress, API Testing
- Bonus: Prior SDET experience through internships, hackathons, or projects
