About the Role

2026 Summer Intern

 

Location:

This internship role is scheduled to be flexible. Please be prepared to spend part of your time working remotely and part of your time working from a Kaiser Permanente regional office. Finalists MUST reside in one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: CA, OR, WA, HI, CO, GA, MD, VA, CT, DC, or IL.

 

Department Details:

Helps KP grow and retain business by partnering with our market-facing teams to impact our customers' business performance by focusing on the health of their workforce.  We do this by translating our internal capabilities to the market through bold messaging, expert consultation and value-added programs as well as bringing the voice of the customer back into the organization.
 

Internship Projects:

An intern will lead 10‑week process improvement projects focused on mapping a business workflow, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing practical solutions. They will interview stakeholders, analyze current‑state operations, and develop clear recommendations that strengthen efficiency and consistency. The internship offers hands‑on experience with process mapping, data analysis, and presenting findings to leadership.

Business Administration; Finance & Accounting; Marketing; Liberal Arts; Education; Healthcare Administration; Public Health; Public Relations and Communications

 

Target Skillset:

Ability to analyze information, identify patterns, and think critically about problems
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to organize tasks, manage time, and work independently with guidance
Comfort interviewing stakeholders, taking clear notes, and synthesizing findings
Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation

Familiarity with process mapping tools or workflows 
Basic understanding of process improvement concepts 
Experience collecting and interpreting simple data sets
Prior exposure to project-based work or team collaborations
Interest in operations, business efficiency, or organizational improvement

Additional Requirements:
  • Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3.0 GPA or above.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
