Role PurposeThe Nurse Intern plays a critical role in helping Hope for Haiti achieve its vision to provide healthcare to people. The Nurse Intern is primarily responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of the Cancer Prevention Program. They will participate in a community-based Cancer Prevention Program, conducting field activities five days per week. The role includes assessing, screening, treating, and monitoring women, delivering breast and cervical cancer education and awareness sessions, and supporting preventive interventions.


Major Responsibilities :


  1. The Nurse Intern will support cancer prevention team in assessing and managing breast and cervical cancer cases (screening, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up)
  2. Educate women/families on breast and cervical cancer and related health issues
  3. This position is field-based, requiring daily travel to program sites, including schools, clinics, and community households, to implement cervical and breast cancer screening activities
  4. Participate in community health, chronic care or other healthcare programs as needed
  5. Work diligently with the beneficiaries of the cancer prevention program and public health programs to make sure the activities can take place
  6. Work with the the cancer prevention program and public health teams to determine the supplies and materials needed for the program
  7. Work with Operations and Public Health teams to procure the supplies/materials in a timely manner
  8. Involve the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) by informing them of public health activities and data
  9. Evaluate public health programs through Monitoring and Evaluation and reporting KPIs
  10.  Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
  11. Understand and agree that employment with Hope for Haiti/Fondasyon Kuehner implies the possibility that work may be extended beyond the 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM workday, including on weekends, in order to meet the demands of our mission.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

National candidates only. A monthly stipend will be provided. There are no benefits for this role.
