About the Role

Overview 

Madison Energy Infrastructure (“MEI”) believes in the power of clean energy infrastructure and has quickly emerged as a preeminent developer, investor, asset owner, and operator of distributed generation. This role represents a critical next step in MEI’s evolution toward offering direct, end-to-end services to Fortune 500 corporates, public entities, nonprofits, and other private customers alike. 

As a Summer 2026 Delivery Intern, you will gain hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of distributed generation projects, from onboarding and construction through compliance and closeout. This role offers a structured learning experience across Project Management, systems, and regulatory processes, providing meaningful insight into how renewable energy projects are delivered at scale.  

What you’ll do 

  • Support Project Managers with coordination of active renewable energy construction projects, including milestone tracking and meeting participation.
  • Assist with onboarding projects into internal systems (MESH) and maintain organized project documentation.
  • Help monitor regulatory and compliance requirements, including FERC, EIA, state incentive programs (NY-SUN and IL Adjustable Block Program), and renewable energy credit registrations.
  • Contribute to documenting and improving Delivery team workflows, including drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support data integrity reviews and portfolio reporting to ensure project information is accurate and up to date. 

What we’re looking for 

  • Rising undergraduate Junior or Senior (Class of 2027 or 2028). 
  • Pursuing a degree in Operations, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related field.
  • Coursework or internship experience related to renewable energy, construction, or engineering is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to enhance productivity. 

Location & Schedule:

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), hybrid internship based in Tysons, VA. Interns will work four days per week in-office and one day remotely to maximize in-person collaboration and exposure to the business. 

The 10-week program runs from June 1 through August 7, 2026. Interns will participate in our all-company offsite on June 24, 2026 as part of their immersive experience. The office will be closed in observance of Juneteenth (June 19, 2026) and Independence Day (July 3, 2026). 

Commitment & Compensation: 

This is a paid internship. The hourly pay rate for this role is $20-30/hour, based on academic level and experience.
