Overview
Madison Energy Infrastructure (“MEI”) believes in the power of clean energy infrastructure and has quickly emerged as a preeminent developer, investor, asset owner, and operator of distributed generation. This role represents a critical next step in MEI’s evolution toward offering direct, end-to-end services to Fortune 500 corporates, public entities, nonprofits, and other private customers alike.
As a Summer 2026 Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting high-impact initiatives within the Project Management / Construction team. This role is designed to provide meaningful exposure to the clean energy industry, real project ownership, and the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing organization. The intern will work closely with project managers supporting the execution of commercial solar construction projects from planning through completion.
What you’ll do
- Assist project managers with tracking project schedules, milestones, and deliverables across active solar construction projects
- Support project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, drawings, and reports using project management platforms such as Procore
- Help organize and maintain project documentation to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
- Participate in site visits to active commercial solar construction projects to observe installation progress and assist with capturing field updates and documentation
- Support preparation of project reports, meeting summaries, and progress updates for internal teams
What we’re looking for
- Rising undergraduate Junior or Senior (Class of 2027 or 2028) OR current graduate student (Class of 2026 or 2027)
- Strong interest in commercial construction and jobsite operations
- Basic understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules (preferred but not required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore) is a plus
- Ability to communicate clearly with both office and field teams
- Strong attention to detail, especially in documentation and tracking tasks
- Comfortable visiting active construction sites and working in a field environment
- Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to take ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Eagerness to learn how projects are built from planning through closeout
Location & Schedule:
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), hybrid internship based in our Moorestown Office (NJ). Interns will work four days per week in-office and one day remotely to maximize in-person collaboration and exposure to the business.
The 10-week program runs from June 1 through August 7, 2026. Interns will participate in our all-company offsite on June 24, 2026 as part of their immersive experience. The office will be closed in observance of Juneteenth (June 19, 2026) and Independence Day (July 3, 2026).
Commitment & Compensation:
This is a paid internship. The hourly pay range for this role is $20–$40. Compensation within this range is determined based on factors including academic level (undergraduate vs. graduate), year in program, and relevant experience.
