Client Representative Intern – Global Shareholder Services

Launch your professional journey with a hands‑on internship at Franklin Templeton, a global investment management firm. As a Client Representative Intern within our Global Shareholder Services (GSS) team, you’ll gain real‑world experience supporting financial advisors and shareholders while developing valuable skills for a future career in financial services.

Internship Details

Internship Program Dates:

  • June 8, 2026 – December 31, 2026

Location:

  • St. Petersburg, FL

  • Must be able to commute to the office Tuesday–Thursday

Training Schedule (Approx. 3 Weeks):

  • Global training program, Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. EST

Work Schedule:

  • Hybrid model

  • In‑office: Tuesday–Thursday

  • Optional remote work: Monday & Friday

  • Flexible hours between 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. local time

Hours Commitment:

  • Summer (June–August): Up to 37.5 hours per week

  • Fall (September–December): Minimum of 15 hours per week, based on academic availability

  • Remote work may be considered during the Fall semester, depending on location

What You’ll Do

As a Client Representative Intern, you’ll gain exposure to the investment management industry while supporting real client interactions. You will:

  • Learn the fundamentals of the mutual fund and investment services industry
  • Develop knowledge of Franklin Templeton’s products, services, and operations
  • Communicate professionally with financial advisors and shareholders
  • Execute financial and non‑financial transactions accurately and compliantly
  • Deliver high‑quality, confidential, and customer‑focused service
  • Participate in comprehensive training, mentoring, and ongoing coaching

What You’ll Learn:

Interns in Global Shareholder Services gain practical experience in:

  • Client communication and relationship management
  • Regulatory and compliance‑driven financial processes
  • Professionalism, confidentiality, and problem‑solving
  • Navigating enterprise systems and financial tools
  • Working collaboratively within a global organization

You’ll be supported every step of the way through structured training, peer mentoring, and regular feedback from experienced leaders.

Ideal Qualifications:

Successful candidates typically have:

  • Current enrollment as an undergraduate student
  • Interest in financial services or investment management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Comfort learning new systems and technology

No prior financial services experience is required—just a willingness to learn.

This is a full-time internship where students will work approximately 35-40 (dependent on state/location) hours per week and earn competitive hourly pay of $18 (dependent on location and function) USD per hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
