Since 2022, Cork has been designated as Johnson Controls’ Center of Excellence for Fire Detection Connected Services. This recognition is driven by the success and innovation of our local engineering teams.

One of our flagship solutions is Xaap—a mobile and web-based building inspection and compliance reporting platform. Since its launch in 2018, facility managers across North America have used Xaap to test over 84 million devices, identifying more than 1 million safety deficiencies and improving compliance standards to help protect lives.

We are now entering an exciting new phase—expanding our cloud platform, building next‑generation connected services, and driving innovative technologies developed right here in Cork.

As a QA Engineering Intern, you will join a diverse, collaborative team that values curiosity, inclusion, and innovation. You’ll gain hands-on experience across modern software and hardware products while contributing to solutions that make a real‑world impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute manual testing across Mobile, Web, and Hardware projects.
  • Participate in test planning, defect reporting, and verification activities as part of an agile team.
  • For candidates with programming experience (e.g., Python, .NET, C#, Java, C, C++), there may be opportunities to Support test automation initiatives and contribute to app development and tooling improvements

Essential Qualities

  • Action-oriented, proactive, and results-driven.
  • Strong customer-focus and attention to detail.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate within a fast-paced agile engineering environment.
  • Full work authorization in Ireland for a 12‑month full-time placement.

Qualifications / Desired Majors

  • Currently studying or recently completed a degree in:
    • Computer Science
    • Software Engineering
    • Electronics & Software
    • Or another related discipline with a strong software component
