Title: C5ISR Engineering Intern
Location: Pascagoula, MS
Position Overview: Bollinger is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented C5ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) Engineering Intern for a full-time, on-site summer internship at our Pascagoula, MS facility. This opportunity is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a professional, real-world environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Research Assistance: Support the team with research on industry best practices and innovations in C5ISR systems and technologies.
- Security Strategy Development: Assist in developing, enforcing, and monitoring security policies and procedures aligned with government regulations and industry standards.
- Risk Assessment & Management: Contribute to identifying and managing cybersecurity, design, and integration risks in C5ISR systems and critical infrastructure.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work cross-functionally with internal departments, contractors, and military personnel to ensure smooth coordination and execution of engineering and programmatic efforts.
- Security Audits & Compliance: Participate in cybersecurity audits of deliverables to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear records of work activities and changes made to technical deliverables. Prepare and present detailed reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Currently a junior or senior enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software is a plus. Foundational knowledge or coursework in C5ISR-related disciplines such as communications systems, data analysis, AI/ML, electronic warfare, or cybersecurity. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, and MATLAB is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in design, allowing students to develop industry-relevant skills, expand their professional network, and contribute meaningfully to Bollinger’s Engineering department.
