Job Responsibilities:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education in an automation and robotics related field

  • Experience with Ignition development and implementation is an asset

  • Experience with human machine interface (HMI) development and implementation is an asset

  • Experience with Relational Databases (i.e., Microsoft SQL [MSSQL] Server) is an asset

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills

  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to uphold confidentiality

  • Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists MES Analysts in MES System based projects

  • Helps support middleware applications (IGear, Kepware) in conjunction with the MES

  • Supports in data collection techniques that meet or exceed client data traceability and production performance reporting

  • Provides recommended solution alternatives in alignment with business objectives

  • Development of project requirements, including detailed specs, work estimates, timelines, deliverables and milestones

  • Works with other departments to create and collect data in support of KPIs and other key measurements from production using existing data collection systems

  • Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e., IATF16949, ISO14001)

  • Understands, promote and live by Magna’s philosophies and Employee Charter

  • Adheres to Modatek’s core values; integrity, respect, trust, honesty, fairness and loyalty

  • Follows Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.

  • Performs all duties in an environmentally responsible manner in accordance with the Modatek Systems Environmental Policy

  • Performs other duties as required

WORKER HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies of Modatek Systems

  • Performs all duties in a safe manner in accordance with Section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulation 851 for Industrial Establishments 

Duties of Workers:

28. (1) A worker shall,

(a) work in compliance with the provisions of this Act and the regulations;

(b) use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that the worker’s employer requires to be used or worn;

(c) report to his or her employer or supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger themself or another worker; and

(d) report to their employer or supervisor any contravention of this Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which he or she knows.

WORK AND PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in office areas and may sometimes be in manufacturing environment, may be exposed to elements such as temperature and noise.

  • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.

  • Sitting for extended periods of time

  • On-call availability

  • Physically able to perform the essential duties of the position
