About the Role

Job Purpose:

Are you driven to make a meaningful impact in higher education and the nonprofit sector? The Community Solution Education System invites passionate, motivated students to join our 2026 Summer Internship Program, a dynamic, immersive experience designed to accelerate your professional growth while contributing to real organizational outcomes.

As an intern, you will be embedded within a department aligned to your interests and skills, collaborating directly with experienced professionals and organizational leaders. You will tackle high-impact projects, sharpen your analytical and communication capabilities, and gain a behind-the-scenes perspective on how a mission-driven nonprofit system operates at scale.

Departments potentially accepting interns span a broad range of functions, including but not limited to: Admissions & Enrollment, Academic Development, Student Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance & Accounting, Legal & Compliance, and the Chancellor’s Office. Specific responsibilities will be outlined during the interview process based on your placement area.
 

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Day-to-day responsibilities will vary by department; all interns are expected to:

  • Support department goals by contributing to projects that align with organizational strategy.
  • Conduct research, gather data, and synthesize findings to inform decision-making.
  • Assist in the creation of reports, presentations, process documentation, and communication.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose practical, data-informed solutions.
  • Represent the organization’s values of equity, inclusion, and student-centered service in all interactions.
  • Engage proactively with colleagues, ask thoughtful questions, and take initiative in your learning.

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge and Skills

  • Collaborative team player who also demonstrates initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Skilled communicator; both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas clearly and professionally.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Critical thinker with a solutions-oriented mindset and genuine enthusiasm for contributing to meaningful work.
  • Comfortable and self-motivated in a remote, virtual work environment using digital collaboration tools.
  • Committed to building inclusive, respectful professional relationships with peers, supervisors, and stakeholders.
  • Open to diverse perspectives and committed to fostering equitable, inclusive environments
  • Proficiency with standard digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, video conferencing platforms)

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or master’s degree program and in good academic standing.

Experience:

  • Interest in nonprofit organizations, higher education, or community-focused work is preferred, though not required.
  • Prior internship, work, or volunteer experience in a relevant field is a plus, but not mandatory.
     

Working Conditions: 

  • This internship opportunity can be full remote or hybrid, depending on departmental needs. Interns will be informed of their expected work arrangement upon placement. All roles support virtual participation through digital collaboration tools. This is a primarily sedentary role, interns will spend the majority of their time working at a computer, attending virtual meetings, and performing desk-based tasks.
