POSITION SUMMARY:   

The Finance Intern will support the Finance team with financial forecasting, budgeting, profit & loss (P&L) reporting, risk analysis, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) data review (D365/Financial Reporter) to inform business decisions. his role provides hands‑on exposure to corporate finance, FP&A, and cross‑functional collaboration in a fast‑paced business environment. The program provides exposure to corporate finance, cost accounting, and operational analysis, preparing future leaders through hands‑on experience and practical challenges.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide support for activities related to financial reporting, analysis, and data consolidation.
  • Help monitor actual results against forecasts and budgets, drawing attention to any discrepancies.
  • Assist with cost tracking, accruals, and standard financial control procedures.
  • Create and update internal reports, dashboards, or presentations for stakeholders.
  • Work together with teams like Supply Chain, Customer Development, and Marketing to facilitate financial planning.
  • Participate in month-end or period-end tasks when necessary.
  • Offer assistance on ad-hoc financial analyses and projects that inform business decisions.
  • Take part in administrative and coordination duties that aid daily Finance operations.
  • Assess manufacturing costs, evaluate inventory balances, and contribute to oversight at the plant level.
  • Manage Risk & Opportunities (R&O) by gathering information from various sources, reviewing risks and opportunities, and interpreting their impact on the business.
  • Be able to learn and use Excel, D365, or BI tools to handle financial data and develop executive-level financial presentations.
  • Support strategic initiatives by conducting investment evaluations, including IRR and ROI calculations for new projects.
  • Regular, predictable, in-person attendance on the business days the Company requires in-person attendance at this facility. (In-person attendance is optional on the other workdays.)  For non-required-in-person attendance days, employees are expected to be present and engaged during the designated work hours for this role.
  • Perform other duties assigned that support the overall success of the team, department, or organization. This may include participating in cross-functional initiatives, contributing to process improvements, or assisting with special projects as needed.

  • Previous Finance internship experience, preferred
  • Available for on-site work per MA MSO schedule

Education/Experience/Qualifications/Certifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
  • Preference given to candidates in their junior year.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, modeling).

 The hourly rate for this internship position is $20 per hour.

 

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and via electronic devices.
  • Ability to move within the office environment, including walking short distances and navigating stairs if applicable.
