ECoat DEPARTMENT ENGINEERING INTERN

Position

This College or University Engineering Intern will evaluate potential products or processes for compliance and/or customer driven specifications and requirements. Reporting to the department manager, the Intern will perform routine and special tests, inspections, and prepare summaries of collected data to support the ECoat department.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Promote Safety as the Number 1 priority of OMG.

• Conduct periodic physical measurements of product using devices such as scales, verniers, dial indicators, calipers, electronic indicators, pressure sensing instruments, and other more complex instruments, both mechanical and electronic.

• Compile and transmit data, prepare unbiased graphical analysis of tested samples, utilizing computer software programs.

• Review test procedures to be used by Manufacturing Engineering and the ECoat department.

• Participate in studies to verify measurement processes and continuously improve turnaround time, throughput and fill rate

• Create spreadsheets and data collection programs to simplify the dissemination of information accumulated in laboratory testing.

• Maintain necessary files, records, and computer databases of historical information.

• Perform other tasks as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Prior work or studies in Engineering and/or Manufacturing preferred but not required.• Self-Starter

• Good written and verbal communication, and basic math, skills.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve practical problems.

  • Solid time management skills and ability to prioritize workloads.
  • Make observations on the factory floor
  • Advanced PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite (strong Excel skills required).
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Good close vision and depth perception skills.
  • Ability to work and contribute as part of a team.
  • Positive “can do” attitude!
