We are the largest North American producer by volume in the rail and large diameter pipe markets, and we hold leading positions in the Western Canada oil country tubular goods, small diameter pipe and West Coast plate markets.
About the Role

We are seeking a Human Resources Intern to join our Pueblo, Colorado team for the Summer of 2026. This individual will learn how to operate in a real mill setting through supporting daily HR operations, focusing on employee experience, workforce administration, site-level HR initiatives, and interfacing with employees and operation leaders.  The student will have hands-on exposure to HR in a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate positive and proactive front-line employee customer service, resolving questions and concerns to provide employees with requested information on policy, benefits, leaves, timekeeping, and general HR process
  • Maintain employee files, update HRIS data, prepare reports and support audits
  • Assist with planning and executing site events that strengthen culture and retention
  • Participate in HR process improvement projects, helping streamline workflows and enhance employee experience, such as analyzing and trending HR data in partnership with HR staff to develop data-driven solutions such as dashboards and other impactful programs.
  • Develop working knowledge of HR legal requirements related to day-to-day operations, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Performs other duties as they might be assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/ Organizational Psychology or related field
  • Sophomore year completed
  • Ability to handle confidential information and communicate with professionalism
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Results-Driven attitude focused on accuracy, execution & continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
  • Ability to work in an operational mill, with exposure to environmental and outside conditions, with hazards present, while following safety procedures
  • Must hold a valid Colorado Driver’s License

Term

  • May-August 2026, following commencement of Spring Semester

Compensation

  • Undergraduate experience $22 - $24 per hour
