This is a paid Apprenticeship, offering $15/hour.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Junior, Senior or recent graduate at an accredited college or university

  • Located in the state of Iowa 

  • Available to work 15-20 hours per week, September 7, 2026 - May 22, 2027

  • Ability to spend at least 1 day a week on site in our DSM office 

  • Access to your own housing and transportation to/from the DSM office 

About the Team:

The financial reporting team is responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that are distributed internally within the company, to our parent company IAC, or filed with the SEC on Form 8-K. We also perform a wide variety of tasks including issue investigation, accounting guidance research, accounting data collection, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure proper adherence to U.S. GAAP. Our team oversees the external reporting for the entire company so no two days are the same and we work with individuals in many areas of People Inc, IAC, and external auditors.  

About the Role: 

As a Financial Reporting Apprentice at People Inc. you would be involved in the preparation of our monthly statement of cash flows, consolidation of the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Equity, and journal entry review. In addition, you will see our quarterly and annual reporting periods and be involved in the Form 8-K financial statement preparation, Income Statement and Balance Sheet analytic management, and other reporting process management.  You will be using skills in auditing, written and verbal communication, accounting principles, data analysis, and technology on a daily basis.

Apprentice Responsibilities will Include: 

  • Update and manage monthly and quarterly data collections, including fielding questions from internal business groups.

  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly Statement of Cash Flows.

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly consolidated financial reporting packages.

  • Develop process improvements using AI and other tools.

  • Perform other ad hoc analyses and special projects.

About You: 

Candidates for this role should have:

  • Experience with Google & Microsoft Suites with strong Excel skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Strong foundational knowledge of US GAAP

  • Strong analytical skills 

  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.

  • Curious, creative, and driven self-starter that can take direction, run with it, and asks questions to ensure the task is successfully completed

  • Motivated problem solver who will proactively troubleshoot and create solutions
