Pay Range:  $20.00 - $22.00

 

Position Summary

CEVA Logistics is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to gain hands-on experience within our Global Freight Forwarding operations. This rotational internship provides exposure to Air Import, Air Export, Ocean Import, and Ocean Export departments. The intern will shadow experienced logistics professionals, support daily operational activities, and learn end-to-end international shipping processes.

This role is ideal for students interested in supply chain management, international business, logistics, or transportation operations.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Air Import

  • Assist with tracking and tracing international air shipments
  • Support document review (Air Waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists)
  • Observe customs clearance processes and compliance procedures
  • Communicate shipment status updates internally

 

Air Export

  • Shadow export coordinators in booking cargo with airlines
  • Assist in preparing export documentation
  • Learn cargo routing and rate application processes
  • Support shipment tracking and customer communication

 

Ocean Import

  • Assist with container tracking and arrival notices
  • Observe customs documentation preparation and filing
  • Support coordination with trucking partners and warehouses
  • Learn demurrage, detention, and port process basics

 

Ocean Export

  • Assist with booking cargo space with ocean carriers
  • Support preparation of Bills of Lading and export documentation
  • Learn container scheduling and vessel cut-off timelines
  • Observe coordination with customers and overseas agents

 

 

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the full lifecycle of international freight shipments
  • Gain exposure to compliance, documentation, and customs processes
  • Develop knowledge of Incoterms, carrier relationships, and global trade regulations
  • Build professional communication and organizational skills in a fast-paced logistics environment
