The Treasury Internship is a rotational opportunity for motivated students to get exposure to the different aspects of the Treasury department at Valero.  This on-going internship opportunity provides a six-month assignment in each of the following areas within the department. This is an onsite and in-person internship located in San Antonio, TX and is intended to be an 18-month assignment, pending business and performance needs.

Credit

  • Assists with reconciling accounts, early drafts, preparing exposure reports.
  • Assists with customer financial analysis, ratios and metrics.
  • Assists with pulling and analyzing various credit reports.

Cash Management

  • Assists with bank administration, account verifications, budgeting, compliance and reporting.  
  • Assists with outgoing payment processing, daily reconciliation and recording cash entries to SAP.
  • Assists with the recording of cash receipts in SAP.

Finance & Investments

  • Conducts cash forecasting, and investment and foreign exchange analysis
  • Assists with debt administration, compliance and reporting for the company
  • Assists with analysis and reporting of investments in Valero’s financial benefit plans

This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.



  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Graduation date between May 2027 to May 2028
  • Successful completion of Accounting I and Accounting II coursework, required
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer required.
  • Ability to work 20+ hours during the spring and fall semesters required.
  • Able and willing to work in-person at the Valero Headquarters in San Antonio during the internship required.
