The Graduate Intern for New Student Programs is a 12-month, 30-hour/week program coordinator position, primarily supporting programming for new and transfer students. This role serves as a member of the Center for Student Engagement team, supporting student leadership development and facilitating a variety of co-curricular learning opportunities in partnership with student clubs and organizations. As a live-on staff member, the Graduate Intern will also have a number of Residence Life responsibilities.
Essential Functions
Student Engagement Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Student Engagement, assist in the coordination of logistical components of summer, fall, and spring orientation programming activities. This includes occasional open houses, and/or new admitted student days.
Exercise discretion in the coordination of New Student Programs communication efforts including marketing and outreach to new and transfer students, early move-in participants.
Assist in the selection and training of orientation leaders.
Assist Assistant Director with management of office student workers.
Collaborate with the other Student Affairs departments and offices to initiate and coordinate programming efforts.
Advise a number of student organizations as their primary or secondary advisor.
Assist with supporting partnering centers and departments with events such as Regalos with the Center of Ministry & Service, ResLife, and the Center of Inclusive Excellence.
Assist with the coordination and management of club and organization events, CSE evening and weekend events, and traditional college-wide events (i.e., Welcome Week, Student Club Fair, Christmas Tree Lighting, and Spring Week).
Coordinate the production of Mount Regis yearbook.
Perform other related duties as necessary.
Residence Life Responsibilities
Train in incident management and crisis protocol with the Office of Residence Life.
Serve as a member of the Professional Staff On-Call (PSOC) rotation to include the following responsibilities:
Respond to on-campus issues or concerns as they arise, facilitate response with appropriate parties, serve as support staff to resident assistants and Campus Police wherever needed, and submit incident reports when needed.
Communicate with appropriate offices on campus regarding the welfare of residents.
Complete and distribute duty log by 9 am for weekday duties.
Participate in regular Residence Life meetings, including Tuesday morning staff meetings and any training related to on-call policies or procedures.
QualificationsRequirements
Internship applicants must be accepted, provisionally or fully, into an eligible graduate program.
Ability to uphold the University’s commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.
Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Experience managing projects and people with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Interest/experience with higher education, and student affairs.
A positive attitude and an understanding of the importance of being open-minded and flexible.
Ability to navigate and leverage various social media platforms.
Previous event planning experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
Evening and occasional weekend hours may be required.
Stipend & Benefits
$6,000 stipend (12-month)
Free room and full meal plan during the 12-month duration and supplemental meal stipends for summer and winter breaks based on work schedule and internship start/end dates
Tuition remission for two (2) eligible Regis graduate courses/semester, with a maximum of six graduate courses (18 credits) per academic year.
The following campus-based programs are eligible for tuition remission:
60 credits of MA in Counseling (24 credits are not covered by tuition remission. The supervised field experience must be completed after the graduate intern role is complete.)
33 credits of MS in Regulatory and Clinical Research Management
30 credits of MS in Digital Marketing and Communications
36 credits of Accelerated MBA program
The following fully online programs qualify for tuition remission on a space-available basis:
33 credits of MS in Health Administration
42 credits of Master of Public Health (6 credits are not covered by tuition remission
30 credits of Master of Social Work
Courses in Graduate Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Speech Language Pathology, and Doctor of Education programs are not eligible for tuition remission.

NOTE: This is a 12-month position, with the opportunity to continue the position for one additional 12-month term (24-month maximum).
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Conditions include a normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.
Some evening and weekend work is required, and staff will provide assistance during major campus events.
Staff will work indoors and outdoors.
May spend extended periods on telephone, or operating other office machines, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
This is a live-on position.
