POSITION SUMMARY:   

The Human Resource (HR) Intern will support the Human Resources department by assisting with day-to-day HR tasks, projects, and administrative duties while completing a capstone project that addresses a real business challenge. This role provides hands-on experience and exposure to HR, offering opportunities to learn, innovate, and contribute to organizational goals.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Work on a designated Employer Value Proposition (EVP) capstone project from start to finish, including research, analysis, development, and final presentation to leadership.
  • Assist with ongoing projects and deliverables under supervision.
  • Conduct internal research such as employee interviews, focus groups, surveys, and review of engagement and exit data.
  • Research external labor market trends, competitor EVPs, and employer branding best practices.
  • Analyze data and insights to identify key themes, strengths, and opportunities within the employee experience.
  • Prepare executive-ready presentations, summaries, and recommendations.
  • Assist with ongoing HR projects including onboarding, engagement initiatives, internal communications and data analysis, while gaining exposure to multiple HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) such as Benefits, HRIS, Talent Acquisition, and other specialized HR functions.
  • Support team members with administrative tasks such as scheduling, documentation, and file management.
  • Participate in HR team meetings and selected cross-functional meetings to contribute ideas to improve processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Regular, predictable, in-person attendance on the business days the Company requires in-person attendance at this facility.  (In-person attendance is optional on the other workdays.)  For non-required-in-person attendance days, employees are expected to be present and engaged during the designated work hours for this role.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn and take initiative.

Education/Experience/Qualifications/Certifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program (preferred fields: Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.

  The hourly rate for this internship position is $20 per hour.

 

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and via electronic devices.
  • Ability to move within the office environment, including walking short distances and navigating stairs if applicable.
  • Visual acuity to read and interpret data on screens and printed materials.
