About the Role

Position Overview:

Diligent is the AI leader in GRC solutions, helping organizations around the world turn governance, risk, compliance, audit, and ESG into a competitive advantage. Within HR, we're embarking on our own transformation journey—this isn't just a system upgrade, but a fundamental redesign of how our people experience HR at Diligent. During a key 10-week window of our Workday implementation, you’ll have a front-row seat and play a meaningful role, gaining exposure to AI-enabled process redesign, user acceptance testing, data migration and validation, AI agent development, and documentation creation. We’re looking for an HR Technology & People Experience Intern who is deeply interested in the intersection of people and systems—someone who can think critically about how to make our employee experience better, more scalable, AI-native, and user-friendly.

You’ll join a broader cohort of interns and participate in core internship program activities, while being embedded in the HR function as part of the transformation team. You’ll report to the Senior Director of HR AI & Systems Transformation based in London while working from our New York office, collaborating closely with HR, IT, Finance, and regional teams. Our HR team is global, so you’ll build relationships locally, work with increasing independence, and learn to collaborate effectively across time zones as we shape the future of HR at Diligent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Redesign documentation and employee experience by mapping current vs. future-state HR processes (onboarding, performance, time off, offboarding) and identifying opportunities to simplify and improve.
  • Create clear, user-friendly guides, FAQs, and training materials to support Workday adoption for employees and managers.
  • Support Workday implementation through data validation and cleanup (Oracle vs. Workday), HR process and policy inventory, and user acceptance testing with clear issue documentation.
  • Innovate with AI by helping design and refine DiligentGPT (powered by Glean) and other AI-enabled tools, structuring knowledge, testing responses, and proposing new use cases that are ethical and user-friendly.
  • Drive analytics and insights by analyzing HR data in Excel and Tableau and contributing to the redesign of metrics and dashboards that track organizational health.
  • Collaborate across a global HR ecosystem, partnering with HR Operations, HRIS, regional HR, and cross-functional teams in IT, Finance, and Legal.

Required Experience/Skills

  • Passion for employee experience and HR technology, with a focus on making systems intuitive, scalable, and user-friendly.
  • Product mindset with a habit of challenging the status quo and looking for better, more user-centered ways of working.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and hands-on experience with AI, such as building or experimenting with chatbots, automations, agents, or other AI projects.
  • Data comfort and Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis) or strong aptitude and eagerness to learn quickly.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail, able to make complex information clear and spot inconsistencies or gaps.
  • Proactive, collaborative working style, knowing when to take initiative, when to ask for help, and when to escalate or partner with others; pursuing or recently completed a related degree (e.g., HR, IS, Analytics, CS), with HR systems or Tableau experience a plus.

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Familiarity with HR systems (Workday, Oracle, Greenhouse), Tableau experience or previous data analysis work a plus but not required
U.S pay range
$20$20 USD
