Position Summary 

The Summer Intern will support essential records management and organizational tasks within the logistics team at the City of Industry site. This role is well-suited for a detailoriented and motivated individual interested in document filing, report creation, and gaining handson experience in logistics and distribution operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

Customer File Management

  • Create, review, and file customer sales order folders in existing file cabinets. Prepare 2024 and 2025 customer file folders for offsite storage.
  • Provide support and reporting for different aspects of the supply chain and trade compliance performance.
  • Help standardize processes and internal control procedures.
  • Support 5S activities including consolidation, labeling, sorting, and organizing materials within the Distribution Area and office spaces.

Records Filing & Storage Coordination

  • Organize customer folders for Iron Mountain storage process.
  • Assist in standardizing folder structure.
  • Ensure all records comply with established retention policies and procedures (MSP 405‑000347).

Operational Support

  • Assist the Manager with verifying delivery orders using barcode scanning equipment, as needed.

 

 Qualifications

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in 4 year degree program pursuing Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field is highly preferred as rising junior or senior OR currently accepted or enrolled in Master’s or PhD program 
  • Candidate must currently have GPA of 3.0 or higher 
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
  • Must be proactive, results oriented, and have strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn logistics and records‑management processes.
  • Ability to lift /move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods - up to four (4) hours at a time.
  • Manual dexterity to perform all job functions.

 

Hours Preferred: Monday – Friday (7:30am to 4:30pm)
