The Role

Join us at S&P Global Ratings, the world’s leading provider of credit ratings. The opportunity provides the chance to embark on a dynamic 10-week summer training and development journey that begins on mid-June 2026. Our program offers unparalleled opportunities for growth, learning, and collaboration.

As a Summer Intern in the Corporates Team for Hong Kong, you will support analysts covering leading corporate issuers in the region. You will assist with special projects for the corporates team, including research, analysis, and preparation of materials that support credit ratings and related analytical work on corporate clients. You will gain hands-on exposure to credit analysis and the workings of a global ratings business.

The Team

You will join the Corporates analytical team in Hong Kong, working closely with experienced analysts who cover a broad portfolio of corporate issuers. The team is collaborative, diverse, and highly analytical, with a strong focus on the Greater China and Asia-Pacific corporate markets. As an intern, you will be fully embedded into the team’s day-to-day activities and special projects, giving you a front-row view of how credit opinions are formed and monitored.

The Impact

Your work will directly support the credit analysis of corporate issuers and the preparation of key documents used in the rating process. By contributing to research, data analysis, and presentations, you will help the team maintain high analytical standards and timely coverage of the corporate portfolio. The special projects you support for the Hong Kong Corporates team may contribute to process improvements, deeper sector insight, or enhanced tools used in the analytical workflow.

What you stand to gain

  • Practical exposure to corporate credit analysis across a range of industries and issuers.
  • Experience working in a global ratings organization with established analytical and governance standards.
  • Direct involvement in special projects for the Hong Kong Corporates team, providing visibility to senior analysts and team leaders.
  • Development of core skills in financial analysis, research, modeling, and communication.
  • Insight into how rating committees operate and how analytical decisions are formed and documented.

Responsibilities

During the internship, you may:

  • Assist analysts in conducting credit and recovery analysis related to services provided to corporate clients.
  • Support special projects for the Hong Kong Corporates team, which may include sector studies, portfolio reviews, data enhancement or process improvement initiatives.
  • Help collect, review, and analyze financial and non-financial information from public and private sources for corporate issuers.
  • Assist in reporting, research, presentations, and modelling, ensuring analysis is accurate, consistent, and well-documented.
  • Contribute to the preparation of rating committee materials and documents for meetings with issuer management.
  • Draft or update internal summaries, tables, and charts to support the monitoring of assigned corporate credits.
  • Work collaboratively with analysts across Hong Kong and the wider regional corporates team to support timely and high-quality analytical output.

What we're looking for

  • Current undergraduate or postgraduate student (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related disciplines).
  • Strong interest in corporate credit, capital markets, and financial analysis.
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills, with ability to interpret financial statements and corporate disclosures.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; familiarity with financial databases or modelling is a plus.
  • Fluent command of English and Mandarin is essential;
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling multiple tasks under time pressure.
  • A collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn from feedback.
