Position: Metrology Intern – Specialist Documentation & Data Management

Prerequisites: Formation Technical discipline (CFC of polymechanic or equivalent with experience in quality / document management / metrology domain)

Competences

The Metrology Intern supports the Metrology team in updating, organizing, and maintaining calibration related documentation and ensuring alignment with current metrology processes.
The role contributes to improving data integrity, documentation compliance, and harmonization of metrology records in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and internal Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) standards.

Skills/Knowledge Required

Technical Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of metrology concepts (calibration range, frequency, target values, tolerance, uncertainty, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents (procedures, equipment datasheets).
  • Interest in pharmaceutical operations, cGMP, and quality systems.
  • Knowledge of good documentation practices.

Analytical & Organizational Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work methodically, follow structured processes, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Good analytical skills to detect inconsistencies or data gaps.
  • Strong sense of organization and work rigor.

Communication Skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with various departments (Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Lab Quality Control, Facilities, and external vendors).
  • Good written communication skills.
  • French required, knowledge of English (oral and written) is an asset.

IT Skills

  • Good command of MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • Interest in learning and working with Documentation management systems.
  • Interest in learning and working with CMMS/asset management systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

Calibration & Metrology Documentation Updates

  • Update legacy calibration documents and align them with the actual process.
  • Create or revise metrology documentation, such as:
    • Risk Class Assessment – Assessment of Measuring Instrument
    • Equipment lists and instrument data sheets
    • Work Instructions (WI) / Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Ensure consistent structure, traceability, and applicability of all revised documents.
  • Organize metrology documentation (scanning, archiving, classification).
  • Identify inconsistencies or obsolete information and propose corrections.

CMMS Data Control and Updates

  • Verify, correct, and update metrology data in the CMMS (BMRAM / Maximo).
  • Ensure coherence between CMMS data, calibration documentation, and approved SOP/WI.
  • Update calibration frequencies, statuses, risk classes, and equipment attributes when applicable.

Cross‑functional Coordination Support

  • Prepare communication updates for impacted departments (Manufacturing, QA Ops, QC Labs, MS&T).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders during document reviews or data clarification.
  • Contribute to prioritization activities for documentation updates.
