About The Company
EmployIndy, the Workforce Investment Board for Marion County, Indiana, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and operator of the one-stop system in Marion County. Since 1983, EmployIndy has administered hundreds of millions of dollars in federal, state, local, and private funds to support workforce development initiatives for diverse populations. Securing over 20 government and private grants in recent years to augment its one-stop services, EmployIndy has an annual budget of more than $17 million. About the Role

Description

The Human Resources Intern will support EmployIndy’s mission by contributing to critical HR functions that impact employee experience, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented, empathetic, and organized individual who is interested in exploring a career in Human Resources. The Human Resources Intern will report to the HR Manager and provide support in both strategic projects and day-to-day operations.


HR Operations and Compliance – 40%

• Assist in maintaining and auditing HRIS data for accuracy

• Track completion of new hire forms, training, surveys, and compliance tasks

• Prepare employee reports as requested

• Monitor timesheet completions and approvals biweekly and send follow-up reminders to supervisors and employees with missing or incomplete timesheets

Recruitment and Onboarding Support – 20%

• Assist in posting job opportunities and managing applicant tracking data

• Schedule interviews and add to calendars

• Support onboarding preparation and day 1 welcome activities

• Maintain digital personnel files and track required documentation

Employee Engagement and Communication – 20%

• Assist with HR inbox communications

• Help coordinate internal celebrations and events

• Update employee-facing documents and templates

Professional Development – 20%

• Assist with special projects as assigned by HR management

• Contribute ideas for improving internal processes and employee experience



Requirements

 The following qualifications represent the minimum requirements to competently perform the key responsibilities of this job in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses, certifications, or other knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.

Experience

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a college program, or equivalent experience required

Experience

• Interest in a career in Human Resources

Technical Skills

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite)

• Comfortable using virtual meeting platforms like Zoom or Teams

Soft Skills

• Willingness to learn, ability to collaborate across teams

• Organizational skills and attention to detail

• Professionalism and discretion with sensitive information
