JOB SUMMARY:

The Marketing Coordinator Intern is a key member of the marketing team. This role is designed for a detail-oriented individual who loves to keep projects moving and enjoys the "puzzle" of scheduling. Your primary goal is to ensure all social media content is planned, organized, and scheduled accurately while supporting the team with internal communications and administrative tracking. To assist the Marketing Manager on projects and campaigns. 

JOB TASKS:

  • Use Jira to build out the weekly social media calendar, ensuring no post is missing and all assets (images/captions) are ready for launch.
  • Coordinate with our Marketing partner agency to collect photos, videos, and project updates from different departments (like Manufacturing or Sustainability) to be used for social content.
  • Acting as the point of contact between departments to ensure the website reflects current offerings.
  • Monitor social media notifications and alert the Marketing Manager to comments or questions from our community. Planning and automating the rollout of content across platforms like LinkedIn.
  • Assist in moving marketing tasks through Jira, updating statuses, and reminding team members of upcoming deadlines. Using tools to ensure marketing projects meet their deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized digital library of company photos, logos, and sales brochures so they are easy for the team to find.
  •  Attend marketing brainstorms to take notes, track "action items," and input new tasks into our project management system.
     

COMPETENCIES:

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel software programs
  • Must have proven ability to multi-task effectively
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have a demonstrated strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy; detail-oriented

REQUIRMENTS:

  • A current student or a recent graduate of a bachelor’s degree or College Diploma program in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Public Relations, or Journalism.

PREFERRED:

  • Exposure to Project Management Tools such as Jira, Trello, or Asana (even for personal or school projects) to show understanding of task workflows.
  • Experience managing social media accounts, whether for a school club, a personal brand, or a small business to demonstrate familiarity with platform algorithms.
  • Volunteer or Club Leadership experience that requires coordinating schedules, sending mass emails, or organizing events.
