Objective of Position:

We are seeking a motivated and analytically curious Summer Intern to support the Byline Bank Wealth Management team. The intern will work closely with portfolio managers and investment professionals, contributing to the firm’s equity investment process, economic research efforts, and day‑to‑day portfolio management activities. This role offers hands‑on exposure to real‑world investment decision‑making and client portfolio management within a collaborative, professional environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gather, organize, and analyze financial, market, and economic data to support the firm’s equity investment process
  • Assist with company‑level and sector research, including review of financial statements, earnings materials, and market developments
  • Support macroeconomic research, including tracking economic indicators, policy developments, and market trends
  • Help prepare investment and market commentary, charts, and summary materials for internal discussions and client communications
  • Work with portfolio managers and client advisors on portfolio monitoring, performance analysis, and risk reporting
  • Utilize the Bloomberg terminal and other data sources to retrieve and interpret relevant market information
  • Perform general analytical and administrative tasks that support the daily operations of client portfolio managers

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field
  • Coursework in investments, financial markets, corporate finance, or economics strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and economic data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (including charts, tables, and presentation formatting)
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal functions is a plus 
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally
  • Professional demeanor, intellectual curiosity, and eagerness to learn

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office equipment. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices.

This role allows for a combination of remote and in-office work, with occasional visits to the office based on business needs. Specific in-office days may vary and will be discussed during the interview process.

Compensation & Benefits:
Byline Bank offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structure as needed to ensure equity across teams and levels.

The hourly rate for an internship is $18.00.

Depending on the specific role, compensation may also include discretionary bonuses and other benefit programs. The actual compensation package may vary based on factors such as skill set, experience level, and candidate's location.
