About The Company
Circular Action Alliance (CAA) is a U.S. Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) dedicated to implementing effective Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws for paper and packaging. As a nonprofit, producer-led organization, CAA is committed to delivering harmonized, best-in-class compliance services to all producers to advance an efficient and effective circular economy. CAA was founded in 2022 by 20 producers representing the food, beverage, consumer goods, and retail industries. CAA is the only organization approved to implement U.S. EPR laws for paper and packaging, and is operating as the single PRO in California and Colorado. CAA has submitted an initial program plan to operate as the PRO in Oregon, and has also been selected to represent producer interests as the PRO on the State Producer Responsibility Advisory Council in Maryland.

Role Overview

The Procurement Intern supports the Procurement function by assisting with governance, reporting, compliance monitoring, and process documentation activities in alignment with CAA’s procurement policies and delegated authority frameworks.

This role will provide exposure to enterprise procurement operations within a regulated nonprofit environment and supports continuous improvement initiatives across the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Operations Support
  • Assistswithmaintainingprocurementintake trackers and workflow monitoring tools
  • Supports monitoring of PO compliance, including tracking “PO issued before invoice” metrics
  • Assistswith supplier onboarding documentation tracking in coordination with established processes.
  • Supports maintenance of contract metadata within the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems.
  • Assistswith data validation and reporting within the P2P system
  • Reporting and Analytics
  • Assistsin preparation ofprocurementKPI dashboards and summary reports
  • Supportstracking of savings, cost avoidance,purchasingactivity metrics.
  • Compiles data related to PO cycle time, open PO management, and compliance performance. 
  • Conducts basics spend analysis under direction of Procurement leadership
  • Governance and Documentation
  • Assistsin drafting and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and job aids.
  • Supports maintenance of theProcurementKnowledge Base and documentation library.
  • Documents process improvement opportunitiesidentifiedthrough workflow review.
  • Assistswith audit documentation preparation as needed.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a remote environment

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Public Administration, or related field
  • Interest in procurement, governance, compliance, or nonprofit operations

Compensation & Other Information

  • Location:Fully Remote
  • Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour. Since this is a temporary position, it is not eligible for benefits
  • Interns must have their own laptop and access to high-speed internet.
