Founded in July 2020, Verkor is a French industrial company based in Grenoble. Backed by a strong network of financial and industrial partners, Verkor is accelerating the production of low-carbon batteries in France and Europe to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles, electric mobility in general and stationary storage in Europe. The project led by Verkor is unifying, bringing together the best partners to localize the entire value chain in Europe, ensuring optimal use of skills and resources. Thanks to these strengths, Verkor has opened its Verkor Innovation Centre in 2023, it provides three major functions: innovate, manufacture and train. Based on the innovations coming out of the VIC, the Verkor Gigafactory will have an annual production capacity of 16 GWh in lithium-ion batteries, that’s enough to fit out 300,000 electric vehicles and create over 1,200 direct jobs.
