Ironmark Building Co. is looking for a Business Development & Marketing Intern to join our team in the Minneapolis area!


Ironmark is an award-winning commercial general contractor based in Minneapolis, MN with commercial construction projects in Arizona. We specialize in multi-family, mixed use, and hospitality projects. The Business Development & Marketing Intern will support Ironmark’s growth initiatives by assisting with business development and marketing activities. This role will focus primarily on identifying new business opportunities, conducting market research, and supporting client relationship efforts, while also contributing to marketing initiatives to strengthen Ironmark’s brand and project visibility.


This role will work closely with the Business Development Director, Marketing Manager, and other internal teams including Preconstruction and Operations. This position offers hands-on exposure to the commercial construction industry, client development, and strategic marketing initiatives within the Minneapolis market.


Job Responsibilities: 

Business Development (Primary Focus)

  • Conduct research on potential clients, projects, and development opportunities within Ironmark’s target market sectors.
  • Assist in identifying and tracking project leads, bidding opportunities, and upcoming RFPs.
  • Support outreach efforts by preparing contact lists, researching decision-makers, and organizing prospect information.
  • Help maintain and update CRM systems with contact information, opportunities, and relationship notes.
  • Monitor industry news, construction trends, and development activity to identify potential opportunities for Ironmark.
  • Assist in preparing materials for client meetings, presentations, and business development initiatives.
  • Support preparation for industry networking events, trade shows, and professional association activities.

Marketing (Secondary Focus) 

  • Assist with the development of marketing materials that support business development efforts, including presentations, project sheets, and proposal materials
  • Help maintain marketing assets such as project photos, resumes, and company information for proposals and presentations
  • Assist with coordinating company events, networking functions, and community outreach initiatives

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Marketing, Business, Communications, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams and external contacts.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Demonstrated interest in business, marketing, construction, real estate, or related industries.
