Co-op, Information Security & Compliance

Reporting to the Director, Information Security, the Information Security & Compliance Analyst (Co-Op) will be responsible for supporting the Security Operations and Information Security program. The Information Security Analyst – Intern will need to work within ThinkOn’s Corporate Security team, assisting with the Security Operations Center (SOC) and overall information security initiatives. This internship provides a stimulating and challenging environment where students can develop practical cybersecurity skills while working alongside experienced security professionals.

The Information Security & Compliance Analyst (Co-Op) will need to gain hands-on exposure to security monitoring, incident analysis, vulnerability management, and security operations processes used to protect ThinkOn and our clients’ environments.

This position is ideal for students currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or Business Technology Management program who have completed their third year of study and are interested in pursuing a career in cybersecurity or security operations. We are looking for a self-motivated, analytical, and flexible team player who is eager to learn and contribute in a fast-paced cybersecurity environment. 

ThinkOn is a remote-first organization. At this time, we are welcoming candidates from Ontario, Canada for this position.

You Will:

• Assistin monitoring and analyzing security alerts generated by security monitoring tools.
• Support investigation and triage of potential security incidents under the guidance of senior security analysts.
• Assistwith vulnerability management activities, including reviewing scan results and tracking remediation efforts.
• Helpmaintainand update SOC documentation, playbooks, and security procedures.
• Participate in basic threat-hunting activities by reviewing logs andidentifyinganomalies.
• Conduct research on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and indicators of compromise (IOCs).
• Assistin gathering and documenting audit evidence to support security reviews and compliance initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal teams including network, infrastructure, and system administrators to support security operations.

You Have:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) 
• Basic knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle 
• Basic knowledge of the IT industry 
• Familiarity with Project Management techniques 
• Knowledge of IT Security and cyber-security 
• Some knowledge of IT processes, tools, programs 
• Some degree of experience with programming 
• Flexible team player with an eagerness to learn
