About the Role

Inovalon is seeking undergraduate college juniors and seniors, and graduate students with business or sales focused academic backgrounds to join our Summer Internship Program this year.  As a Sales Intern, you will support our Provider Sales team, with the goal of enhancing your educational experience through practical, on-the-job learning, assignments, and projects.  We value collaboration, foster innovation, and value the diverse intellectual capabilities that make up our strong, smart and passionate workforce.

The Sales Internship opportunity will be available at our location in Tampa, FL. This will be a hybrid internship, with up to 4 days in office. The dates are June 1 - August 7.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Sales team with day-to-day work that covers various activities across the department;
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis;
  • Utilize sales tool development and optimization;
  • Lead or assist in the completion of projects, artifacts and/or process improvements, as assigned;
  • Participate in departmental and/or staff meetings;
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;
  • Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures; and
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company.

Job Requirements/Internship Criteria:

  • Ability to work independently and in teams;
  • Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities;
  • Ability to interact in a courteous, helpful, engaging and professional manner;
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment;
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers;
  • Ability to manage projects, conduct research and analysis, and conduct data aggregation (Excel and Tableau);
  • Analyze and synthesize large amounts of data, and utilize process mapping;
  • Possession of excellent critical thinking and analytical skills;
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality; and
  • Strong interpersonal skills including written communication and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Must have junior, senior, or graduate student status in a degreed program at a 4-year accredited college/university;
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or Sales at an accredited college/university;
  • Must be involved with Sales Club/Sales Team or have at least 6 months of sales experience
  • Must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA;
  • A copy of your most recent unofficial transcript will be required for consideration.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time), exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
  • Frequently or constantly able to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions;
  • Travel for this position will include less than 5%, usually for training purposes.

Inovalon Offers a Competitive Salary and Benefits Package

In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range
$17.59$20 USD
