Summary

The pharmacy internship program provides an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a pharmacy environment, functioning under the direct supervision of a pharmacist while enhancing knowledge and technical and clinical competency level. The pharmacy intern ensures that patient care is maintained under the supervision of a clinical pharmacist.

This position reports to the Pharmacy Director and is employed by Mosaic Health Systems.

Duties
  • Assist pharmacists in preparation and distribution of medication, including patient counseling
  • Partner with pharmacy leadership in the implementation of pharmacy initiatives
  • Verify, fill and package prescriptions, take payment, and interact with customers
  • Assist medication history team
  • Complete special projects within the hospital and retail pharmacy operations
  • Participate in educational experiences
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Pharmacist or pharmacy leadership
  • Assist pharmacists in preparation and distribution of medication, including patient counseling
  • Partner with pharmacy leadership in the implementation of pharmacy initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent. Active enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy required.
  • Pharmacy Intern Registration with the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy
